THE WORL’D FAMOUS FOLK CABARET KNOWN AS Folk City sometimes called Gerde’s

Gerde’s got its name from William Gerdes. A storefront awning maker made a grammatical mistake. He still got paid for the job because Mike Porco was from Italy and Italians don’t use APOSTROPHE ES’S.

Use them liberally, he may have said! Add them to Google’s, Taco’s Bell, Tesla’s, Comcast’s, Kentucky’s Fried Chicken, Anheuser’s Busch’s, Under’s Armour, Arm’s and Hammer’s….APOSTROPHE ES anything you’d like.

New York’s Center of Folk Music was originally what we would call BAR & GRILL on West 4th and Mercer. Historians have not recorded William’s Gerdes original business door way. Did Gerdes’’’’’’’ Bar and Grill have an awning that had “Gerde’s” already there? Or did Mike and his partners hire the sign guy???

Or perhaps, the SIGN MAKER in 1960 decided that he was gonna put the APOSTROPHE S after the E in GerdE’s????

Someone needs to check for WILLIAM GERDES’S’S’S birth certificate. He may have not been born here. Mike bought Gerde’s lock and stock in 1952. William may have been born in the 1880s.

Until the time we see William’s papers, the above description for the APOSTROPHE S stands for the test of time. I declared it. I am the WorldAPOSTROPHE ’S Number One in GERDE’S HISTORY APOSTROPHE S!!!!!

GERDE’s had such a ring to it but building a franchise takes time and branding. Most other nations WON’T GET THE REF on what a Gerde’s is. What is it!!!??? Easier to add a state name.

All current and future states will get the ‘APOSTROPHE S added to their name

Like Utah’s Folk City. It will be mostly an every day bar and grill.

But we’re only talking about the GATEHOUSE out by the road.

The rest of the IDAHO’S FOLK CITY Fairgrounds is filled with all them Music Study bungalows.

IT HAS A Six Flags feel. Parks built around a 365-day music school. Seems like a good idea.

Since we will be establishing in all 70-80 United States, we feel that we shall start in Idaho.

There are 83,500 square miles of possibility. EACH US STATE IS ONLY ALLOWED ONE (your state’s) FOLK CITY PER STATE so pick a good spot. ONE SQUARE MILE is enough space.

These are planned places for learned scholars and Folk’s like a FOLK ZOOlogical Study resort.

What does Folk have to do with Idaho?
