I was a commuter between NYC & the Hudson Valley when I started interviewing the greats. I took notes on paper as we spoke. I sent these e-mails to my future self to publish on Substack.
I spoke with all these people about Mike Porco and Folk City on the phone or in person back in 2010.
I took handwritten notes and then had extra time on Metro North trains to review them.
I then used e-mail to SAVE a forever digital copy of exactly what I could remember while the conversation was fresh in my mind.
I sent the e-mails from Bob to Bob.
I HAD and STILL HAVE, apparently, my first email bob***tion@hotmail.com (I went there yesterday to attempt to clean it out)
IN 2010, I used the information that I gathered to write many other drafts in other writings in other documents.
I’ve never had the chance or platform to EASILY COPY AND PASTE the data to share it.
SO HERE THEY GO

Izzy Young brought her to Folk City for the first time. She was promotable because of record. And a "stand up performer" Oscar Brand said that on the radio. Then onto traditional label.
